One very important way to befriend our sorrow is to take it out of its isolation, and share it with someone who can receive it.

— Henri Nouwen

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with several areas of specialization. I have a part-time private practice in Union Square (Manhattan) and am a full-time assistant professor of psychology in the School-Child Clinical Doctoral Program at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology (Yeshiva University).

I work primarily with clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and problems in relationships with friends, family, and loved ones. I also specialize in working with religious clients and integrating spirituality into treatment.

I listen to my patients carefully and with empathy. I believe that few people are truly heard in their day-to-day lives. Therapy offers people a place that is simultaneously safe and challenging. I am interested in collaborating with you to provide a therapy that is restorative and helps move you forward in life. I enjoy working with people who are curious about themselves and those around them, those who are open to exploration and changing patterns that have held them back. I also enjoy working with patients for whom religion and/or spirituality are important parts of their lives. My practice is LGBT-affirming and I have extensive experience working with clients of different sexual orientations. My approach is primarily psychodynamic but I also integrate family systems, cognitive, behavioral, and existential interventions when appropriate.
